This index includes the names of children of Aboriginal descent who were placed in the Perth and Swan Orphanages and Missions between 1871 and 1920.
The index has been created to assist with family history and personal research.
The information has been compiled from the publicly available registers held at the State Library of WA and the Swan Christian Centre, and annual admission and discharge registers held at the State Records Office (consignments 255 and 652).
Whilst every effort has been made to complete all entries within the index, with the loss of records over time, this has in some cases not been possible.
